About Great Ocean Road tours
Good Day Guys,
Only if you really think about great ocean road day trip?! We have detailed information about surf spots
You really can’t do a Great Ocean Road journey without stopping at the Port Campbell National Park area — it’s the wild, storm-shaped soul of Victoria’s southern coastline. The first time I rolled in with a small group from Autopia Tours, the limestone cliffs were lit up under a dramatic sky, and the roar of the Southern Ocean was louder than the bus engine. This stretch of coast doesn’t do quiet beauty — it’s powerful, unpredictable and ancient, etched by wind and saltwater.
Few national parks pack this much into such a small area. The coast is only roughly 30km in length, but it’s home to Australia’s most photographed landmarks — the Twelve Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge and the famous London Bridge formation. Every bend in the road opens up another jaw-dropper (and yep, your photo gallery will take a hammering).
A guided Great Ocean Road experience often arrives towards evening, and for good reason. Seeing the 12 Apostles at dusk is a perfect vantage point to nature’s light show — layers of orange, pink and purple bouncing off the cliffs. It’s also when the day crowds thin out, the surf keeps pounding, and the coastline feels older than memory.
You’ll find the town of Port Campbell about 230 km west of Melbourne. Most people tackle it as part of a Great Ocean Road drive — a winding coastal road that clings to cliffs, winds through lush rainforest and passes open farmland before reaching the coast. The road is half the magic.
